What has been described as a number of "minor" changes have been made to plans to develop one of Porthleven's most historic areas.
Back in April 2019 conditional planning permission was given to create a harbourside Arts Hotel in Porthleven, after Trevor Osborne saw his plans for Breageside Quay in Mount Pleasant Road approved by a Cornwall Council planning officer under delegated powers.
He can now convert the Old Fish Warehouse and reconstruct the lime kiln while developing the area in between, to create a 15-bedroom hotel with restaurant and gallery. It was agreed that gaps between the existing mackerel building and net loft would be left clear to see through.
Now, revised proposals have been approved by Cornwall Council, after being "considered to be appropriate to adequately minimise impacts upon the setting and significance of Porthleven Conservation Area."

Described by Cornwall Council's planning department as a "minor material amendment application", the agreed changes are:
- A plant room extension to the rear of the Fish Warehouse, with external link, to be moved to the first floor to comply with flood risk mitigation requirements.
- Revisions to the flat roof design at the rear of building to allow a safe maintenance strategy for the flat roof above the second-floor gallery. The revised designs set out a maintenance door leading from the plant room onto the flat roof, which is extended in area to the east above the bedroom and plant room.
- The floor to the rear (west and south) of the ground floor to now be retaining against the rockface capped with a concrete slab at first floor level, to allow drainage and maintenance.
- Windows at first, second and third floor level within the new build extension will be altered from timber to composite.
- A new steel escape stair will be set into the top of the lime kiln wall, running back to the rockface due to level constraints.
- The incorporation of two larger family suite rooms on the first and second floors.
No objections were received to the changes and Porthleven Town Council supported the application.
