As the Russian invasion of Ukraine rages on, two more Falmouth-based collections have sprung into action in order to collect much needed supplies for Ukraine.

The Pier café, located on the Prince of Wales Pier in Falmouth, has set up a fundraiser in support of those living through the war, as well as collecting items to be sent to the country.

On the Pier Café's fundraising page, organiser Zuzanna Dusza explained the decision, saying: "We are launching a Stand with Ukraine collection fundraiser for which we will be collecting necessary items to ship over to Poland and help Ukrainian refugees who have managed to flee the war.

"Our café will become a drop-off point for all donations and we will aim to finish and send the packages to Poland on Monday, March 14."

Zuzanna also listed the items which are currently most needed, which include: Clothes (including outdoor, thermal, and children’s clothes), shoes, nappies, gloves, first aid kits, batteries, torches, duvets, blankets, sleeping bags, pillows, sanitary products, metal cups, baby bottles, and toiletries.

Alongside The Pier Café, Falmouth's Clipper Way Co-Op will also be collecting donations for Ukraine.

Store manager Simon Berryman told The Packet that the store would be accepting items at the store and passing them on Mike Motrici and his team in Mullion.

The items being collected at the Co-Op on Clipper way are healthcare items and toiletries and tinned food and pet food.

The Packet will update this list of Falmouth-based donation points as and when we become aware of them.
