A drink-driver based at RNAS Culdrose has been banned from getting behind the wheel for 12 months by west Cornwall magistrates.
Connor Rainbow, 22, whose address in court was given as HMS Seahawk, RNAS Culdrose, Mawgan-In-Meneage, Helston was charged after being arrested for drink driving on February 20 this year.
He appeared at Truro Magistrates Court last Thursday charged with driving a motor vehicle when his alcohol level was above the drink drive limit
Magistrates heard that Rainbow was stopped on February 20, 2022 on the A394 Manhay, Helston whilst driving a red Ford Focus with 41 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath, which exceeded the prescribed limit.

He was fined £600, ordered to pay a surcharge to fund victim services of £60 and to pay costs of £85 to the Crown Prosecution Service.
He was also disqualified from holding or obtaining a driving licence for 12 months as disqualification was obligatory for the offence. Magistrates said the disqualification could be reduced by three months if, by October 9, he had satisfactorily completed a course approved by the Secretary of State, costing £250. His driving licence was also endorsed.
His guilty plea taken into account when imposing sentence.
