Coronavirus testing sites in Cornwall are to close from the end of next week.
It ties in with the government ending free Covid-19 testing from April 1.
As a result, walk-in testing sites in Cornwall, will close from this date. There are currently permanent walk-in testing facilities for people with Covid-19 symptoms available in Falmouth - 51 Wellington Terrace, Bodmin - Chy Trevail Car Park, Liskeard - Westbourne Car Park, Camborne - Heartlands Car Park, andNewquay - Mount Wise Car Park.
The move comes at the same time as 8,493 new people in Cornwall tested positive for the virus in the seven days up to Tuesday, March 22, with the weekly case rate average rising to 1,322.6 cases per 100,000 people, up from the previous week's figure of 750.8.

The government’s current guidance is:
- Get vaccinated and get your booster dose.
- Consider wearing a face covering in most indoor public places and on public transport.
- Wash your hands regularly and cover coughs and sneezes.
- Let fresh air in if you meet indoors. Meeting outdoors is safer.
