A Helston family are said "to be over the moon" to be dancing in the Midday Dance this Flora Day as, for the first time for them, all three siblings will be dancing at the same time.
The event, which is usually held on May 8, but will this year take place on Saturday May 7, has had to be postponed for the past two years due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
But now, with restrictions being eased, Flora Day is taking place once again, and one family in particular will be celebrating the day in a very special way.
Jayne Venables, along with her sister Teresa Jolly and brother Ivor Smith, have been selected to take part in the Midday Dance, along with Teresa's best friend Denise Marlow and her husband Gary Marlow, with Teresa's daughter Sammy also taking part.
Unfortunately, due to the event being cancelled in May 2020, Teresa missed out on the chance to dance on her 60th birthday, as previously reported in The Packet.
It's been something she has been looking forward to as in previous years she has been unable to take part due to working, and then kindly providing Helston Town Band with breakfasts at The Godolphin Club.
Not only is it a special occasion for the family and close friends to be finally able to dance, but they will also be joined by Teresa's daughter Vicky, who currently lives in New Zealand and will be flying over to watch her family take part.
"It is amazing, Flora Day runs in our blood," said Jayne.
