FLORA Day's Morning and Evening Dance leading set say they are "excited" that the event is finally happening after a two-year wait.
Brother and sister Mark and Michelle Skewes will be joined by Ross Yelland and Hayley Goodchild as the four will lead the first dance of the day.
Mark and Michelle will be first out of the Guildhall at 7am and again at 5pm, immediately followed by Ross and Hayley.
Michelle who works as a team leader for the District Nurses at Helston Community Hospital said: "I'm very excited, it's been a long wait."
She was in the second lead couple of the dances in 2008, partnered with Kevin Williams, and now it is her turn in the starring role.
Not only has Michelle had to wait for her big moment but also her son, who was due to dance for the first time back in 2020 with Nansloe School.
Both Mark and Michelle attended St Michael’s school and then to Helston School.
Mark, who is probably best known locally for working in former Helston electrical shop ETS for 15 years, now works for his father-in-law at John Orchard & Co Scrapyard near Redruth.
He said: "I am very honoured to be dancing, im a bit nervous, but I’m sure I will be fine once the drum starts."
The dancers have been waiting a long time for the day to finally be taking place.
Hayley, who works at Atkins Ferrie Wealth Management as a financial advisor, said: "I think it will be one of the best years yet, as everyone is so happy it's back."
Hayley and her dance partner Ross have been friends for a long time, and danced together in school.
Hayley attended Parc Eglos, and then went onto Helston School.
She said: "I love the atmosphere; there's not really that many things that get people out that early in the morning it's the one thing that really brings Helston together."
Ross attended St Michael’s and then Helston School. He now lives in Chichester, West Sussex and works for a academic publishers in Chichester.
Despite now living away he returns to Helston regularly with his wife and three young children, and always for Flora Day to dance.
"I am looking forward to being a part of the leading set, it will be so fantastic to have Flora Day back again, especially after the last couple of years," he said.
