A care home in Falmouth organised a special day for its residents this week, with two American miniature horses coming by to visit.
Residents and staff at Falmouth Court Care Home in Falmouth had the most special visit this week.
Gail one the care staff from Falmouth Court, treated everyone with a very special visit yesterday afternoon as she brought her two American miniature horses, ‘Star’ and ‘Marina’ in to meet everyone.
As luck would have it the rain stopped just at the right time and the sun shone for the occasion.
Residents and staff gathered out in the care home's courtyard garden to say hello and feed to the two American miniature horses some carrots.
Geoff, one of the residents at the home said the experience "Took him back 50 years!"
The occasion also brought back memories for another resident Jill.
When she was a young girl she used to go to her local stables and muck out the horses in exchange for a free ride.
Home Services Advisor, Hugh Dickinson said: "It was the most special afternoon, the reaction was overwhelming from staff and residents.
"Eyes lit up and everyone was smiling.
"The uplifting effect some animal therapy had on everyone was incredible to see."
