A plastics company has issued a warning to people living in Falmouth and Penryn to vigilant after it was told "workers" impersonating its employees had been cold calling at peoples' homes.

Posting on Facebook, Penryn Plastics said the fake employees had been telling people they were from the company and wanting £600 cash to redo some guttering

"We have just been advised that some “workers” have approached someone's elderly neighbour this week saying they are from Penryn Plastics!! They were asking for £600 cash to re-do the fascias on the house. This was most definitely not us Penryn Plastics do not cold call.

"We only come out to provide a quote when we are invited to do so and all of our quotes will be in writing.

"Please warn people to be vigilant."

There are reports of two men in a van touting for business around Falmouth/Penryn/Mabe saying they were doing fascia work.
