From May 1, the Phoenix Cinema in Falmouth, Savoy Cinema in Penzance and Royal Cinema in St Ives have said they are delighted to present a season of alternative titles chosen by their Film Programmer in association with Penwith Film Society.
The cinemas say they have worked with The Penwith Film Society for many years at Savoy Cinema in Penzance and also with the Royal Cinema in St Ives and are extending this partnership further east and sharing the season with Phoenix Cinema in Falmouth.
Nick Herpley, The Penwith Film Society said: "We've chosen a season in which you will find plenty of cinematic gems, mostly brand-new films from around the planet, and in Penzance a special screening of Seven Samurai in a new restoration from BFI."
The hand-picked selection of films has been described by organsiers as 'world-leading titles' and looks to bring the very best indie instant-classics, world cinema, critical darlings, and award-winners to the big screen.
The films being shown are as follows:
- Flee - May 1-3
- Red Rocket - May 8-10
- Lingui, The Sacred Bonds - May 15-17
- After Love - May 22-24
- Playground - June 5-7
