A COMMERCIAL property team in Cornwall has welcomed two new members to its team as part of its ongoing expansion.
South West legal firm Coodes has expanded its team with the appointment of two new lawyers.
With experience in the sector, Yasin Ahmed and Jo Counter will help to cement the firm’s reputation across its network of offices.
The expansion of the department will support the law firm to meet growing demand for its specialist legal services in Cornwall and Devon.
The team is currently working on several large-scale commercial developments in the South West.
Paralegal Yasin Ahmed is based in the firm’s Truro office and will assist lawyers within the team on several commercial property matters to support their legal needs.
Yasin, who grew up in Cornwall, started his legal career two years ago focusing on the property sector with Penderlaw Solicitors in Truro, while studying for his LLM in Legal Practice and Masters at the University of Law’s Exeter campus.
Yasin, a graduate of the University of Plymouth, said: "I was attracted to Coodes because it’s such a prestigious, forward-thinking firm and a leader in the commercial property sector in the South West.
"Working with the team will inevitably broaden my expertise in commercial property, it’s great for my progression and career development, learning from some of the best legal practitioners in the business.

Also based in Truro, Jo Counter joins Coodes as a commercial property executive specialising in the sale and purchase of freehold commercial property, landlord and tenant matters and new build developments.
Jo recently returned to Coodes having previously worked at the firm for several years.
She has over ten years of experience in the commercial property sector, both in the legal profession and then in a commercial agency.
Jo, who lives in Truro, originally qualified in matrimonial law but her preference of commercial property was too great.
She said: "I’ve been working in commercial property for years and my time working in a commercial agents has really helped me to broaden my knowledge – I can see the sector from both sides now.
"I feel most comfortable when I’m working with the team at Coodes, I was drawn back because, although it might sound cliched, there’s a real family feel here, and I can’t imagine working anywhere else."
Jo Morgan, Partner, and Head of Commercial Property for Coodes said: "We are delighted to welcome Yasin and Jo and have them on board.
