A TEENAGER has been sentenced by a court in Cornwall after damaging a shelter at a well-known supermarket.
The 17 year old girl, who is from Newquay and cannot be named for legal reasons, appeared in front of magistrates on Monday, March 28 at Truro Magistrates' Court.
She appeared on one count of criminal damage to property and pleaded guilty to the charge.
The offence took place in Truro on Monday, September 27 where the girl was found to have deliberately damaged a shelter at Tesco supermarket to the value of £1500.
During her sentencing, the teenager was referred to a Cornwall youth offender panel for a contract for a period of no more than three months.
She was also made to pay compensation of £250 as well as pay a surcharge to fund victim services of £22.
The court also noted how the defendant's guilty plea taken into account when imposing sentence.
