Penryn Athletic have announced that left back Russell May will continue be the club captain heading into the 2022/23 campaign.
May wore the armband last season, and also stepped up to help with the running of the club when Penryn were managerless after the departure of Harry Pope in January.
Athletic had somewhat of a rollercoaster campaign in their first season back in the South West Peninsula League but finished on a high by winning their last three games of the season to end up 13th in the table.

Speaking to the Packet, May said: "It is an honour for me to be captain again, the new gaffer Micky Hunt has seen us play a few games and he is happy with me being captain. For another manager to come in and for me to still be captain is an absolute privilege and honour for myself. I am very proud. I'll take it forward and hopefully play well next season.
"He was appointed before the end of the season, he watched all the games he could bar one. The last few days he messaged to say he wanted to keep me on (as captain) so I was very privileged and I am obviously very happy as well.
"It's very exciting times for us at the moment. I hope pre season will be a big step for us. We have the new manager in, so he will bring in the players he wants to bring in. We had a few players leaving, Micky will bring in a fair few so the pre season will be quite key to our season next year."
Penryn Athletic's pre season gets underway on Saturday, July 9 when they host Mousehole Reserves at Kernick Road, with kick off at 3pm.
