The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall visited Royal Cornwall Show today (June 10).
On the second day of the three day show, the royal couple met county dignitaries and representatives of farming organisations before enjoying tasters of Cornish food and drink.
This year The Prince of Wales celebrates 70 years as Duke of Cornwall. He is the Royal Highness Patron of the Royal Cornwall Agricultural Association and The Duchess of Cornwall who is Vice President of the show.
On arrival at the showground, The Lord-Lieutenant Colonel Edward Bolitho, introduced Their Royal Highnesses to Sir Ferrers Vyvyan, Chairman RCCA, and Mr Christopher Riddle Secretary RCAA both of whom escorted Their Royal Highnesses around the Wadebridge showground.
Their Royal Highnesses began their tour of the show by visiting organisations that support the rural community including the Addington Fund, The Farming Community Network and Forage Aid area.
His Royal Highness then visited the Duchy of Cornwall exhibition which depicts aspects of work undertaken on The Duke of Cornwall’s estate. This years’ display provides an introduction to some of the exciting projects underway across the Duchy of Cornwall and information about their vision of ‘Sustainable Stewardship'.
Meanwhile, Her Royal Highness visited the Dog Show and the Flower Show before, as Patron of the Cornwall Air Ambulance Trust she visited its stand.
His Royal Highness watched the parade of cattle, sheep and goats before presenting the Livestock Inter-Breed Championship Trophies.
At the Food and Farming Pavilion The Duchess of Cornwall tried gin from Colwith Farm which she said "packed a punch!".
