A Cornish firm of opticians has put together a 'Find The Emoji' campaign to show the importance of regular sight tests and eye health.
Reynolds & Slater Opticians, which has branches in Falmouth and Penzance, is marking the run up to World Emoji Day on July 17 to test the Duchy's eyesight using well-known Cornish locations.
The opticians has put together five images that have emojis – the term used for small digital images or icons used to express an idea or emotion – hidden within then, and the idea is to find the symbols to test people's eyesight.
Anyone who struggles to find the emoji in each one is being encouraged to book in to see their local optician.
The firm said: "The average UK adult should be having regular eye tests every two years to ensure eye health and to deal with any changes in your sight during that period of time, missing an eye examination not only affects your vision but is also used to indicate any eye-related issues.
"A number of diseases and illnesses can be picked up during a regular sight test, such as glaucoma, cataracts and ageing eyes.
"Whilst regular eye examinations are recommended throughout all stages of your life, they are extremely important for ageing eyes. As we age our eyesight also deteriorates and it is important to regularly check your eye health, as failure to do so could lead to increased issues with your sight."
