There is good news for Thai food lovers of Helston, as a new takeaway cuisine launches this week.
Swage Thai Food will launch its new takeaway service this Thursday, July 7 and for its launch there will be 30% off pre-orders before Wednesday.
The owner of Swage is David Barrett, along with business partner and chef Athikom Jeerapairotekun, who will serve some authentic Thai dishes from Cades Park, Helston.
Each week will see a choice of two dishes to begin with, with a maximum of 20 portions available per night – Thursday to Saturday – to maintain the authentic, home-booked quality.
For the opening week the menu will consist of Phaad Thai fried noodles with chicken at £10 and chicken Thai green curry with rice (not fried) at £11.
Dishes for the following weeks will include salmon and ginger stir fry with rice, pork fried rice, Red Mullet Krapao fried rice and Phaad Thai Noodles with prawns and beef Thai green curry with rice.
The menu for each week can be found at the business's Facebook page, www.facebook.com/SwageUK
Thailand-born AJ traveled back to his country earlier on this year to source the best ingredients for his dishes, as he wants to share his passion with the people of Helston and surrounding areas.
The name Swage is an ancient dialect meaning "To be relaxed and enjoy after a big meal," which David said was an appropriate way to describe their business.
David and AJ have already received many pre-orders for opening night on Thursday and hope this takeaway service will be a success.
Although this will be the opening week for Swage, there are currently plans in place for the business to move to a commercial property in the town centre.
With authenticity in mind, AJ and David are currently supported by local farmers who are growing Thai Holy Basil seeds in polytunnels at their farm. So far, around six inches have grown, which AJ will use in some of his dishes.
Orders can be placed between 2pm and 9pm daily, via phone or email – see the Facebook page for full details.
Customers will then be issued with an order number to confirm the order, which will confirm date, order and pick up time, which will be in 15-minute time slots starting from 4.30pm until 9pm, when the kitchen will close.
