Wendron United have made former Penryn Athletic captain Russell May their third signing of the transfer window.
May follows in the footsteps of fellow Penryn man Ryan Reeve in swapping Kernick Road for Underlane after Athletic withdrew from the South West Peninsula League in June.
May, who plays at full back or centre back, watched Wendron's first pre-season game from the sidelines as Dron defeated St Piran outfit Porthleven 8-1 on Saturday.
The defender had picked up a minor knee injury in training which he or the club didn't want to risk worsening at this early stage of the season.

Speaking to the Packet, May admitted it was a difficult decision to leave Penryn after being a longstanding player at the club, he said: "It is a new challenge, I had been at Penryn since I was 16. It was a very hard decision don't get me wrong. I'd been wearing that red and black strip since I was 16 so you're talking 12 years. To leave that was a big step.
"At this current time with Penryn pulling out I feel I needed to play South West Peninsula League levels. With Wendron being on my doorstep it was a no-brainer. They're a good club, a good bunch of lads and the way they are going looks promising, so why not be involved with that? So yeah I am very happy with the move.
May becomes the third man to put pen to paper for Dron this summer, with Cam Quirke and the aforementioned Reeve also joining as they continue to prepare for the upcoming season.
May added that the manager Mike O'Neill also played a big role in persuading him to join, he said: "The facilities there (at Wendron) are always decent. It's a nice pitch plus the manager Mike (O'Neill) had a chat with me. He told me what he wants to do with the club, from a players point of view he sells us a very good target to go for. For me it very exciting to be a part of."
Wendron's next pre-season friendly is at home to Western League outfit Mousehole on Tuesday, July 5.
Kick off in that tie is at 7:30pm. Mousehole won their first pre season friendly on Saturday with a 1-0 win over Wadebridge United.
