Dog walker and two pets stuck on mud flats among those rescued by Falmouth coastguard in a busy few days.

On Friday July 1at 12:36pm they were called to help a man having suffered a "medical episode" on Swanpool Beach - they worked alongside South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust firefighters from Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service and a full time Senior Coastal Operations Officer.

The man was stretchered from the beach and taken to hospital for further treatment.

"Big thanks as ever to the team at Elemental UK for the assistance before emergency services arrived and for the refreshments," they said in a Facebook post.

Arriving back at the station, just as the doors were closing, they were then called to a mud rescue near St Mawes where it was reported a man and two dogs had been trapped. Portscatho Coastguard Rescue Team and local fire crews were called, along with Falmouth Coastguard and two senior coastal operations officers. A man and two dogs were helped from the mud using a ladder.
