More than 100 members of the Budock Vean Golf Club will be battling it out on the scenic Helford River fairways on Sunday, August 7 to raise funds for the Children’s Hospice South West.
The Captains’ annual charity day is reportedly a highlight among the competitions held by the club throughout the year in aid of good causes.
This year, captains Brian Fellows and Isobel McGrory are hoping to top the over £5000 raised in 2021.
Men’s Captain, Brian Fellows, said: "Budock Vean is a small but incredibly welcoming and friendly club for players of all ages and abilities and we’re all keen to do our bit for our chosen charities.
"We get to play this beautiful course in the grounds of the Budock Vean – and the Hotel’s friends, colleagues and suppliers are always extremely generous with their raffle and auction prizes."
Among the prizes already gifted are a treatment in the Budock Vean’s Natural Health Spa, a painting by professional artist Maxine Hart, an ebike day out for two and contributions from the hotel’s many local food and drink suppliers.
The Budock Vean Golf Club is based within the Budock Vean Hotel and plays the nine hole, 18 tee course designed for the country house estate on the banks of the Helford River by the legendary James Braid in 1922.
The course lies within part of the Helford Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty alongside the hotel’s organically managed grounds and sub-tropical gardens, its tennis courts, pool and hot tub.
