Residents had to be evacuated from their homes last night last night after a fire broke out in a residential property in Truro involving four flats.
Firefighters were despatched to Trevose Road, Truro at 01:26am this morning after receiving the Cornwall Fire Service control centre received multiple 999 calls. Two appliances from Truro Fire Station attended along with a station manager from Falmouth.
However when the crews arrived they realised they needed urgent assistance and four more appliances were despatched, two from Tolvaddon, one from Perranporth and one from Falmouth along with the incident command unit from St Just.
The crews tackled the fire using using two main jets and one hose reel jet and made good progress. Police were also in attendance.
By 2.53am it was reported that the fire had been put out and the crews were monitoring for any further hotspots.

A Cornwall Fire Service spokesperson said: "At 01:26 Fire Control received multiple 999 calls reporting a fire at a residential property in Trevose Road, Truro. Two appliances from Truro Fire Station were mobilised along with a Wholetime Station Manager from Falmouth. On arrival the first crew requested urgent assistance from an additional four appliances, with two from Tolvaddon, one from Perranporth and one from Falmouth being mobilised, along with the Incident Command Unit from St Just.
"The fire involves four flats. Good progress is being made as crews are using two main jets and one hose reel jet. Police also in attendance."
"The fire has now been extinguished and crews are monitoring for any further hot spots."
A spokeswoman for Devon and Cornwall Police said: "We were called around 1.40am today (August 4) by the fire service following a fire within a block of four flats in Trevose Road in Truro. Three of the properties were affected and several residents were evacuated. One of the flats was severely damaged by fire."
