One of the highlights of Falmouth Week failed to disappoint as colourful explosions lit up the night sky over the harbour on Friday, August 12.
The eagerly awaited firework display began with a bang exactly at 10 pm as crowds gathered at various viewpoints across the seafront including the Prince of Wales Pier, Pendennis Point and Church Street Car Park to catch a sight of the display which looked to be set off from the Mylor direction.
Among the onlookers was a dramatticaly lit up moon which had a yellowish hue as hit hovered over the top of Pendennis Point.
Following a large spate of fires in Cornwall over the past month, largely down to the weather conditions, the Falmouth Week organisers ensured that extra precautions had been made.
"As you would expect, additional precautionary measures have been put in place to ensure a safe and successful display after the dry spell of weather we've been having." The team said in a post on their Facebook page.
