There has been a sewage pollution alert at Falmouth's Gyllyngvase Beach on Monday morning.
The warning has been put in place following storm sewage causing a sewer overflow following in the area over the past 48 hours.
A statement on the Surfers Against Sewage website said:"Storm sewage has been discharged from a sewer overflow in this location within the past 48 hours.
"Although no sewer overflows discharge directly onto Gyllyngvase bathing water may be affected by a nearby overflow some 400m to the southwest of the beach.
"Other discharges into the Fal River may also have an affect here, along with diffuse pollution." The website added.
South West Water has since provided an update on the situation.
The alert follows a week where Cornwall was battered with short, sharp spells of heavy rain which resulted in flash flooding in some areas.
There is no pollution alert for neighbouring beach Swanpool.
Gyllyngvase beach is one of the busiest beaches in Falmouth and is a popular attraction with its sandy middle surrounded by rocky reefs on either side.
