A MAN who harassed a woman while living in his car has appeared in front of magistrates for sentencing.

Haywood Nana Yaw Frimpong Dwira, aged 36, of no fixed address appeared in front of magistrates at Truro Magistrates' Court on Tuesday, August 23 on one count of harassment without violence and one count of breaching a non-molestation order.

The offences took place on Wednesday, May 18, 2022, where Dwira pursued a course of conduct which amounted to the harassment of a female victim in St Austell.

The victim was a person that already had a non-molestation order against Dwira, the conditions of which were breached when Dwira contacted and intimidated her.

Dwira pleaded guilty to the charge of harassment without violence but not guilty to breaching the non-molestation order, however, was eventually found guilty.

During his sentencing, Dwira was made the subject of a community order for which he must carry out 200 hours unpaid work by February 2024.

A restraining order was also taken out against him, barring him from contacting the female victim of entering a street in St Austell for two years.

Alongside the community and restraining order, Dwira was made to pay a surcharge to fund victim services of £95 and costs of £860 to the Crown Prosecution Service.
