The previously postponed Castle to Castle swim is one of two RNLI fundraising events that are taking place in Cornwall this September.
The swim was originally due to go ahead in June 2022 but was postponed due to adverse weather conditions.
This year's Castle to Castle will now go ahead on Saturday, September 17 at 9am.
The one mile open water sea swim sees participants embark across the Carrick Roads starting at Pendennis Castle in Falmouth and ending at St Mawes Castle on the Roseland Peninsula.
The event is strictly limited to 450 swimmers and is open to anyone over the age of 14.
Due to the rescheduling of the event, a small number of places are still available. You can register by clicking here and entries cost £25. In addition, all participants are asked to pledge to raise £50 for the RNLI through sponsorship.
It will be preceded by the Around the Mount open water swim in Marazion on Saturday, September 10 at 4pm.
The Around the Mount swim is a one and a half mile open water sea swim around the iconic St Michaels Mount in Mounts Bay.
This challenge is a must for all intermediate or experienced open water swimmers and promises to be great fun and a beautiful swim to be involved in. All money raised will support Penlee RNLI Lifeboat Station.
Entry numbers are limited and around 100 participants are already registered, but there are still a few spaces available at a cost of £25 by clicking here.
Again, participants are asked to pledge to raise £50 for the RNLI through sponsorship.
Dave Nicoll, RNLI Fundraising & Partnership Lead, said: "These two amazing events offer open water swimmers the chance to take part in some iconic swims in a safe environment whilst also supporting the work of the RNLI.
"We currently have a small number of places available across both events for those who would like to take part.
"The events are largely run by volunteers and it would be impossible to hold these swims without their help. We are always looking for volunteers to help us out with such events, so if anyone has a few hours to spare and would like to offer their help and support, please get in touch – it promises to be great fun with a fantastic atmosphere, so do come along and get involved."
