Weather permitting, the 35th Anniversary Martin Jennings Memorial Motorcycle Run will be taking place this coming Sunday, September 11 and we have all the timings!
The ride will depart from Tregurra Park and Ride Car Park, Truro at 11am, and finishing at the Falmouth Recreation Ground at 4.15pm, after a countywide ride covering approximately 110 miles.
The run in memory of Martin Jennings of Beacon Camborne, who sadly lost his life competing in the 1987 Isle of Man Manx GP, and other bikers that have lost their lives on the roads of Cornwall, is expected to attract over 1,000 bikers riding in aid of Cornwall Hospice Care.
To mark the 35th year of the run, several charities that have benefitted from the run will be in attendance at the start, which has raised in the region of £150,000 over the past 35 years.
To also mark this special year Dave Saunby the organiser during the past 35 years will be riding his Triton, which was the machine he rode in the very first run in 1988.
The morning route is kept secret for safety reasons, but the afternoon route and times are as follows.
The run will be travelling west down the A30 arriving at Chiverton Cross at 2.30pm, where the huge convoy will make its way down to Camborne West, making its way through Camborne, and up past the railway station, arriving at Beacon Square (Martin's home village) 3pm, where a one minute's silence will be held in memory of Martin and other bikers killed on the roads of Cornwall.
The run then continues on through Troon, and then onto Turnpike Helston 3.30pm, where it will then head for Falmouth passing through Rame, Longdowns, Treliever, Penryn by-pass, Ponsharden, North Parade, Greenbank, arriving at the top of High Street, 4pm.
The run proceeds down the High Street, Market Street, Church Street, Arwenack Street, Bar Road, Castle Drive, Seafront, Spernon Wyn Road, Pennance Road, Western Terrace, finally finishing at the Falmouth Recreation Ground 4.15pm.
The run will be marshalled by 50 members of the MJMA (Martin Jennings Marshals Association), who will ride as direction marshals and within the main group keeping a steady eye on things as the convoy makes its way around the Duchy.

All of this depends on the weather, and the decision will be made on Friday morning September 9, after listening to Sundays weather forecasts for Cornwall.
In the event of bad weather, mainly rain, the run will be postponed for one week, or the next suitable Sunday when weather conditions allow.
