Cornwall has been named as one of the best UK holiday destinations for British travellers, by the hotel chain Travelodge.
It placed sixth on the 'Coastal' section of the Travelodge ranking, which was behind locations such as Brighton, Bournemouth, Bridlington and Devon.
Cornwall came ahead of places like Whitby, Scarborough, the Isle of Wight and Great Yarmouth.
Travelodge’s latest Travel Index revealed the facets behind the holiday plans of many UK holidaymakers, which surveyed 2,000 adults on their holiday plans.
On average Britons have spent £513.13 on their 2022 staycation holiday which equates to a collective spend of £30 billion with the average break being four days.
This showed a trend that revealed Brits were preferring to take shorter breaks rather than one long holiday.

Shakila Ahmed, Travelodge spokesperson said: “Our latest travel index shows that 2022 is set to be the year of the Best of British holidays. More Britons are exploring hidden holiday gems that are on their doorstep than ever before and its great news that Scarborough is one of the nation’s top 2022 staycation destinations.
"Record heatwaves this summer have also inspired Britons to take more spontaneous breaks to seaside resorts such as Scarborough.”
"Across our 580 UK Travelodge hotels which includes 13 properties in North Yorkshire, we are also seeing that travel trends are changing.
"With so many places to see and so little time and money, the traditional two-week holiday is on the decrease and a lot shorter breaks, particularly in Scarborough, are on the increase.”
