Residents in Truro have got the chance to have their say over new plans for the Boscawen Park Sports and Recreation hub.

Locals are being invited to give feedback this weekend on a number of plans to bring enhanced recreation facilities to Boscawen Park.

The first engagement day will take place on Saturday, September 10 between 9:30am and 3pm on Lemon Quay as part of Truro Farmers Market.

Some of the facilities being considered for the sports and recreation area include a sports hub and indoor children’s play area and climbing wall; improved changing facilities and surfaces for the sports pitches; a hospitality area including a bar and café; an extended play area with more natural play; a hard surfaced area for bootcamp/outdoor fitness classes; water jets and a splash play area; remediation works to the eroding riverbank as well as enhancing the footpath and cycleways for improved access facilitated by the bridge and enhanced performance space for outdoor events.

The project would be funded by both Truro City Council and Truro Town Deal.

In an announcement published on its social media page regarding the events, a spokesperson for Truro City Council said: "The Truro City Council and Truro Town Deal teams will be holding community engagement events for Boscawen Park Sports and Recreation Hub, with a chance for all ages to give feedback.

"The first engagement day will be on Saturday 10th September between 9:30am and 3pm on Lemon Quay as part of Truro Farmers Market.

"You will be able to see the plans and give your feedback to the team.

"Children’s activities will be on offer, enabling young people to also have their say on the plans.

"Feedback from these events will be used to support the next stage of the development, which involves applying for planning permission.
