Asda has confirmed that their shops will be closed on nationwide from midnight on Sunday, September 18 until 5pm on Monday, September 19 as a mark of respect for the funeral of Her Majesty The Queen.
Asda stores across the country will be shut as a mark of respect to The Queen, who passed away on Thursday, September 8 at the age of 96.
There will also not be any online delivery slots on the Monday.
In a statement on their Facebook page the supermarket chain said: "As a mark of respect for Her Majesty The Queen, all Asda stores will be closed from midnight on the evening of Sunday, September 18, to 5pm on Monday, September 19 to allow our customers and colleagues to recognise the passing of our late Monarch and commemorate her steadfast service to our nation.
"We will not be offering any online delivery slots on Monday, September 19. We are in the process of contacting customers with slots booked to rearrange their delivery."
It follows the news that fellow supermarket chain Aldi will also shut its doors on the day of the funeral.
