A Cornwall restaurant made it onto the 100 best in England list at the National Restaurant Awards 2022.
Paul Ainsworth at No.6 was placed in 79th on the list, being the county's only representative in the top 100.
The Awards are judged by more than 200 experts, part of its judging academy, that are familiar with the industry with their roles including food writers, chefs and restaurateurs.
The National Restaurant Awards website says: “The UK is split into 11 regions, with members of the academy voting for the top seven restaurants that they have dined at in the last 12 months, weighted in order of preference. The results are compiled, and the top 100 list of the best restaurants is created.”
Restaurants can win a variety of awards such as Wine List of the Year and Chef of the Year.
They’re also given between one and five pound signs (£) which are used as an approximate estimation of the cost of food there and it doesn’t include drinks or a service charge.

The sommelier was extremely knowledgeable and we enjoyed the wine flight he selected. Staff were very welcoming and friendly. Loved the theatre of the presentation, particularly with the butter! Loved the carousel and the take home gift which was very much enjoyed the next morning."
