A PENSIONER has appeared in front of magistrates in Cornwall for a driving offence.
Alexander Robert Anderson Hill, aged 68, of Treverbyn Road in Falmouth appeared in front of magistrates at Bodmin Magistrates' Court on Monday, September 12 2022 on one count of speeding on a dual carriageway.
Hill was caught by manned equipment while driving on the A30 at Stowford Lewdown in Okehampton in the county of Devon.
He was proven to have committed the offences in a single justice procedure - a procedure that applies to cases involving adults charged with summary-only, non-imprisonable offences, and allows cases to be dealt with by a single magistrate without either party having to attend court for a hearing.
During his sentencing, Hill was fined £500 and made to pay a surcharge to fund victim services of £50.
Hill was also made to pay costs of £90 and had his driving record endorsed with five penalty points.
The court also noted how Hill's guilty plea had been taken into account when imposing the sentence.
