Today is a sad day for us all at the Packet as we say goodbye and good luck to our sports and news reporter Tom Harris.
Tom, 24 joined the team in May 2021 after graduating from Falmouth University and became a well-respected and much-loved sports and news reporter around Cornwall.
But now, Tom will be saying goodbye to the Packet team and to Cornwall as he embarks on a new adventure in Weymouth where he will now work at the Dorset Echo as a digital reporter.
Tom has been an essential part of the team and has covered not only sports but local community stories - including writing an article about a woman who lost her treasured wedding ring on a Cornish beach, which was then found by a local metal detectorist after reading Tom's article.
Tom has also supported each one of his colleagues with his knowledge, humour, and kindness.
Although Tom is sad to be leaving he said: "I’m so grateful for the time I’ve had with the Packet and everyone who has helped me in my position here.
"I can't wait to get started in the new role and am excited to get going in the next stage of my career!"
