It’s that time of year when the dark skies over Cornwall light up for Bonfire Night.

Throughout this week, there will be plenty of firework displays across the Duchy – weather depending of course.

It’s the perfect chance to get together with family and friends, wrap up warm and watch the displays safely from down below.

Here are some of the Bonfire Night celebrations taking place across Cornwall this year:

TRURO

Truro City’s Council’s Annual Bonfire and Fireworks Display returns on Friday, November 4 at Tremorvah Playing Field. Gates will open at 5pm and the bonfire will be lit at 6pm followed by the fireworks display at 6.30pm.

Entry is £3 per adult and £1 per child (under 16).

Refreshments will also be available to purchase on-site. Please be aware that this is a cash-only event. All proceeds from the event will be donated to the mayor’s chosen charity, The Invictus Trust.

HEARTLANDS, POOL

Heartlands Bonfire and Fireworks Spectacular show is an annual community event on Guy Fawkes Night, Saturday, November 5 from 4pm.

The free community event is provided by the Heartlands Trust Charity with the help and support from local businesses, through event sponsorship, and also from people in the local community who generously gives donations.

The bonfire will be lit on the great lawn at 6.30pm with the fireworks to follow at 8 pm.

Visitors attending the event can enjoy a family-friendly fairground and there will also be food and drink vendors, with evening entertainment from a Queen covers band.

FALMOUTH

Falmouth Fire Station Social and Welfare Club will be hosting a display at the town’s cricket club on Saturday, November 5. Gates open at 6pm and the display will start at 7pm. Fireworks said to be worth £7,000 will be set off to music.

There will also be food stalls, a bar, a hog roast, and children’s rides. 

Entry is £4 for adults and £2 for children; children must be accompanied by a parent/guardian. Cash only. There is no parking at the site.

ST KEVERNE

The Three Tuns, St Keverne will host its Bonfire and Firework Night on Saturday, November 5. Gates will open at 5.30pm with the bonfire being lit at 6.30pm. Following the bonfire being lit, the fireworks will be set off at 7pm. 

A barbecue and external bar are available in the evening, charged separately and there will be food and gift stalls. Tickets - adults £4, children (under 18) - £2, family (2 adults, 2 children) - £10.

WENDRON

On Saturday, November 5 Wendron Cricket Club will host its Family Firework Party at Underlane, Carnkie, Helston.

There will be hot food and a bar.

Gates open at 6.30pm with fireworks being lit at 7.30pm.

Admission – adults: £5.00 - children – FREE - children unaccompanied - £5.00

THE LIZARD

The Lizard Firework Extravaganza on Friday, November 4 on The Lizard Recreation Ground.

From 6pm with fireworks being set off at 7pm.

There will be Chimichangas, doughnuts, and hot drinks.

People are being asked to park in the village.

STITHIANS

On Friday, November 4 Stithians Fireworks extravaganza will take place. The event is sponsored by Aqua Rod and it's free entry but donations will be gratefully received.

The bonfire will be lit at 7pm with the fireworks being set off at 7.30pm.

There will be burgers and hot dogs available with the bar also being open.

PENZANCE

  • Penzance Rotary has announced there will be no Penzance Rotary Firework display in November. Instead, details of a Festive Fun, Fire, Laser, and Sound Spectacular display will take place in the run-up to Christmas.
