As Remembrance Day approaches, locations across Cornwall will join the rest of the United Kingdom to pay tribute to the fallen in conflicts worldwide.
Armistice Day will fall on Friday, November 11 and a two-minute silence will take place at 11am.
On Sunday, November 13 there will be remembrance services taking place across Cornwall.
Although services will take place next weekend, a primary school in Helston has paid tribute to those who have lost their lives this week.
Nansloe Academy was named the winner of a Poppy Competition which was run in Helston’s Tesco store. The picture by the school includes a silhouette of the late Queen Elizabeth II, surrounded by poppies.
Here is a round-up of the services taking place next weekend:
Truro:
Between 11am and 11.30am on Friday, November 11 there will be a two-minute silence and a period of reflection at Truro Cathedral.
Between 10am and 11.30am on Sunday, November 13 the cathedral will host a Common Worship service that will last an hour and relives the last supper.
At 11am there will be a two-minute silence at the War Memorial, Boscawen Street led by the Truro Branch of the Royal British Legion.
At 2.30pm a wreath-laying ceremony will take place at the war memorial on Boscawen Street.
A military parade will take place at 2.45pm. The parade will pause for the salute, with his Majesty the King’s Lord Lieutenant for Cornwall Col E T Bolitho OBE, on Boscawen Street.
This march will then join the Civic procession leading to the formation of the Guard of Honour at High Cross.
At 3.15pm will be the Royal British Legion Service of Remembrance at Truro Cathedral Church.
Falmouth:
A two-minute silence will take place on Friday at 11am at the St Nazaire Memorial on the Prince of Wales Pier.
People are being asked to arrive before 10.50am.
On Sunday, November 13 the Remembrance Sunday Parade and service will take place at Kimberley Park.
At 9.45am there will be a Civic Party to assemble at the Atherton Suite, The Old Post Office, The Moor for light refreshments.
People will assemble on The Moor at 10.25am under Parade Marshal’s directions.
At 10.35am people will depart The Moor for the parade to Kimberley Park.
From 11am, the service will take place conducted by Father Froom at the War Memorial including a two-minute silence and wreath laying.
The parade will depart Kimberley Park for return to The Moor to march past and salute the town mayor at 11.30am.
At 11.35am the parade will disperse for a reception at the Atherton Suite.
The Town Council will provide tea and coffee in the Atherton Suite following the parade on Sunday, November 13.

Helston:
On Saturday, November 12 at 7pm there will be a Remembrance Concert with Helston Town Band and Culdrose Military Wives Choir at St Michael's Church, Helston.
On Sunday, November 13 the annual parade will take place through Helston town towards Grylls Monument at 11am, where wreaths will be laid.
At 3pm wreaths will be laid at Helston’s War Memorial on St Michael’s Church grounds, with 86 fallen soldiers, sailors, and airmen’s names will be read out.
St Just:
The parade will leave the St Just Miners’ Chapel at 10.45am on Sunday, November 13. There will be a pause at the war memorial for a brief service and laying of the wreaths and then move on to St Just-in-Penwith Parish Church.
After the parade, refreshments will be available at the St Just Old Town Hall.
The parade is open to everyone.
Camborne:
On Sunday, November 13 the Remembrance Parade will be leaving Commercial Square at 10.15am making its way down to Trelowaren and onto Union Street, across Cross Street down to the church on Commercial Street.
Porthleven:
Armistice Day will see a service at the war memorial for 11am.
On Sunday there will be a gathering at the Public Hall at 2pm on November 13 followed by a service at the Methodist Church where wreaths will be laid around 2.15pm.
Penzance:
On Friday, November 11 at 5.03am the Mayor of Penzance will join representatives of Armed Forces charities at Penzance Station to lay a wreath on the 'Poppies to Paddington' train as part of the Routes of Remembrance Campaign for 2022.
At 11am a two-minute silence will take place at the Memorial Gardens in Penlee Park which members of the public are welcome to attend.
On Sunday, November 13 there will be a Remembrance parade and service.
The service will take place outdoors at the War Memorial at Battery Rocks and will be led by Rev Howard Peskett and Wella Morris.
Penzance Council has confirmed the Cornish language will again prominently feature in the service.
Key times for this day:
10.15am - The Civic Parade will form-up in the forecourt of St Johns Hall
10.35am - The parade will set off for the march to The War Memroial at Battery Rocks led by Penzance Silver Band.
10.50am - Remembrance Service and Wreath laying. Members of the public are welcome to watch the parade and attend the service.
Following the service, Penzance Royal British Legion will be providing refreshments and a buffet at their clubhouse on Bread Street which everyone is welcome to attend.
Redruth:
Redruth Town Band will lead the parade from the town centre at 10.30am, on November 13. The procession will then head towards Victoria Park for a brief ceremony before heading to St Andrews Church at 11.30am
There will be road closures around these areas.
Godolphin:
Godolphin Cross will be hosting its Remembrance Day Service at the memorial in Godolphin Cross on Friday, November 11 from 10.30am until 12.30pm.
Mawgan:
Reverend Lisa Coupland will take a Remembrance Service at 9.30am on Sunday, November 13 in the church. The Service of Remembrance at Mawgan War Memorial is at 10.45am.
St Keverne:
Although times and details are to follow, the parade will resume from the An Gof Statue into St Keverne, supported by St Keverne Band and is expected to follow the usual route.
