Hundreds of people gathered across Cornwall on Friday and Sunday to pay respects to those who have lost their lives in conflicts around the world.
On Armistice Day and then Remembrance Sunday members of the public joined military personnel, councillors, primary schools, and other organisations to pay respect to the fallen.
Here is our round-up of services and parades which took place across Cornwall on Remembrance Sunday:
Helston
In Helston, huge crowds gathered at the bottom of Coinagehall Street for the parade at 11am.
The parade was led by Helston Town Band. Military personnel from RNAS Culdrose joined pupils from local primary schools, Helston Brownies, Beavers, Scouts, Air Cadets, and Rainbows.
Rev Danny Reed conducted the service at Grylls Monument at 11am. Hymns included “Abide with Me” and “Eternal Father Strong to Save.”
Porthleven:
Under the conduction of Musical Director Tom Basset, Porthleven Town Band led the parade to the War Memorial for the service at 2pm.
Rev Danny Reed led the service at the War Memorial on Peverall Terrace.
Truro
The service took place at 11am on Boscawen Street, led by the Truro Branch of the Royal British Legion.
At 2.30pm wreaths were laid at the war memorial watched on by Truro’s Mayor Councillor Steven Webb and other members of the Council.
Service personnel from RNAS Culdrose joined the parade, along with other members of the armed forces.
Penryn:
The procession at 10.45am started at Penryn Temperance Hall which then led on to St Gluvias Church where wreaths were laid during a remembrance service.
