A café owner in Helston is raising awareness of the fight for women and human rights in Iran as part of a national movement.
Natasha Mossayebi, from the Coffee Hut, is taking part in Cook For Iran, which hopes to draw attention to the human rights issues in Iran through sharing culture, food and community.
Natasha, who has family in Iran, is serving one of her favourite Persian dishes in the café each week. Last week it was lamb Khorak, a gently and this week will be a chicken version, served with basmati rice and pitta bread.
She said: “The idea of Cook For Iran is to keep Iran in the spotlight, to help with their fight for basic human rights, freedom and a safer, better future.
“Let’s keep the movement going, raising awareness and talking about Iran and the harrowing situation over there. Let’s keep fighting for basic human rights, especially for women.
“I hope people will also feel inspired to cook some Persian dishes at home.”
The café is open Tuesday to Saturday, 10am to 4pm, when the dish will be served alongside the usual menu.
