Thousands of people crowded into Helston on Friday to see the town's Christmas lights switched on.
With stalls and food vans along Meneage Street and Coinagehall Street, as well as craft stalls in the Guildhall, there were plenty of things for people to do while they waited for the countdown.
This was led by Rev Danny Reed, compere on the main stage for the evening, where Culdrose Military Wives Choir and Helston Town Concert Band performed in the run up.
Other entertainment could be found in Meneage Street and outside Lloyds Bank, with Santa set up in his grotto helped by a number of elves.
Young Jasper Hosken was chosen from the crowd to go up on stage and press the plunger to light up the town, which was followed by a lively rendition of Slade's Merry Christmas Everybody - with Rev Danny getting the whole crowd dancing along.
Helston Christmas Lights Committee and its chairman Rob Williams were thanked by both Rev Danny and mayor Tim Grattan-Kane in his speech, with cheers given for the volunteers who have worked hard over the last six weeks to prepare the town for Christmas.
