Kingsley was born in Ponsanooth on September 13, 1953 to parents Len and Doreen Tresidder.

He attended school at St. Gluvias Primary in Ponsanooth before attending Penryn County Secondary School, where he made many lifelong friends. After leaving school he worked at Harveys Building Merchants in Truro before moving to J.C. Annears in Commercial Road, Penryn which later changed hands and became Kennedys.

After a short spell working at Mitchell and Webber it was in the 1980s that he decided to join his father, Len, in the funeral directing business he ran alongside his building business in Mill Yard, Ponsanooth.

From here Kingsley never looked back and Funeral Directing became his dedication, with it moving from C.T. Fittock and Co to become Kingsley Tresidder Funeral Service.

Kingsley married Sandra in 1978 at St. Gluvias Church, Penryn and together they had two children Julie and Steven.

After living in Longfield for the first part of their married life, in 1987 they decided to move to Ponsanooth to be close by their business premises.

Together, over the next 40 years, Kingsley and Sandra worked alongside each other in running the business serving many families during this time, becoming well known members of the community.

He was delighted when his family expanded and he welcomed son-in-law Mark, daughter-in-law Zoe and with the arrival of his grandchildren Perran, Lowenna, Sophie and Jack.

In the early 2010s both his children, Julie and Steven, decided to join the business and have worked closely with him over the last 11 years, benefitting from his brilliant coaching to ensure they have the skills and knowledge to carry the business into the future, making it a third-generation family business.

In 2021 he was able to see all his and Sandra’s years of hard work come to fruition with the completion of the extension of their Chapel of Rest to provide a modern business premises with all the necessary facilities.

It was just as this was completed that he was unfortunately diagnosed with cancer.

In his spare time Kingsley was a dedicated follower of Falmouth Town Football Club and supported them from an early age, gaining an award for over 50 years support in 2017. He also supported them as a sponsor.

He was also a keen player having played for Mawnan Smith and Cusgarne in his younger years.

Sandra, Julie, and Steven and family say they have been greatly touched by the amount of support they have received since Kingsley’s passing.

“The number of cards and messages received show just how well thought of he was, with the word’s kind, compassionate and gentleman being at the forefront of each message. “They would like to take this opportunity to say thank you.”

As Kingsley was such a dedicated Falmouth Town man, they have decided to drive Kingsley by the club on the day of his funeral - Monday 5th December. They should be passing by at around 10.15am for anyone wishing to pay their respects.
