Temperatures may have been in the minuses for much of the last few weeks but that didn’t stop a West Cornwall resort unveiling its latest addition – an outdoor swimming pool.
Fortunately for guests wanting to try it out straight away, it’s a year-round heated lido pool, meaning even in this weather an outdoor swim I still possible.
It is the latest phase in a multi-million-pound development of Una St Ives at Carbis Bay.
The lido will now run alongside the indoor pool, children’s pool, jacuzzi, sauna and steam room at the 29-lodge resort.
The new pool is 20 metres long and heated to 25 degrees.
It will be available to use by resort guests, as well as those using Una Spa and existing Una St Ives leisure members, with selected availability for day guests.
James Hemming, resort director at Una St Ives, said: “This is the exciting next step in the plus £50 million development of Una St Ives, which will see the resort become a flagship for hospitality in Cornwall.
“The lido development presents a perfect opportunity to add to our existing team of amazing staff and further enhance our award-winning wellness facilities enjoyed by our local membership base and Spa visitors.”
Packages include the Dip n Dine from £25 per person, to include a morning swim and cooked breakfast, or from £30 to include an evening swim and dinner, while the Starlight Spa package from £75 per person, available Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 4pm, includes a 25-minute treatment and £20 to spend in Una Kitchen – with a special launch offer of a Starlight Spa from £99 for two people currently running. Finally, the Elements Spa Day from £100 per person includes a 55-minute treatment, wood-fired pizza or signature salad at Una Kitchen, as well as use of the leisure facilities. Pre-booking for all is essential.
The development ultimately plans for a total of 93 holiday villas, a 55-apartment hotel, and a central piazza with a bar, restaurant, and further leisure facilities to follow.
