Shops and businesses in Helston have been decorating their windows with a festive display as part of the annual Christmas Window Competition.
This is the fifth year that the Helston Community Interest Company has run a Christmas window competition.
On Friday, December 16, members of the Helston Community Interest Company judged the town centre Christmas windows.
They were impressed by the variety, inventiveness, and care that went into many displays.
They also were pleased that more national stores took part this year; they were especially amused by the Poundstretcher Santa.
As a group, hair salons and barbers made a fantastic contribution to the town's attractiveness.
The lights and decorations in estate agents’ windows, the glitz of Tech Revive, and the cosy scene in the window of The Beehive as well as Bumble Bee Accountancy’s winter scene all contribute to the atmosphere of good cheer and welcome which is traditional at Christmas.
The town's charity shops went the extra mile to make their windows worth a second look.
After comparing notes and making difficult decisions, judges awarded third place to Neville J Harris for a window that succeeded in brightening up the business of insurance, second place to Daisy Chain for a stylish and charming arrangement, and first place to JC Williams for the display of rooms which they all felt they would like to sit in, relaxing after Christmas dinner.
The mayor, Tim Grattan-Kane, awarded certificates and a trophy.
The HCIC would like to thank all concerned for making the streets and businesses so festive and inviting.
