A one off opportunity to be taught the secrets of gardening by No dig guru Charles Dowding is being offered by a Penryn food collective.
Soul Farm is hosting a one off no-dig intensive course, including slideshow, group chats, lunch and practical on Saturday, March 4.
Soul Farm founder Laurence said: "I’ve known Charles since I was a child as my grandparents knew his parents and lived in the same area.
"When I first started gardening my parents directed me to him and after doing some double digging I quickly moved to No Dig.
"When I first started thinking about starting a business I spent a week with Charles, picking salad, delivering to restaurants in the town I went to school in.
"We set the world to rights but I felt so excited to be part of the start of a technique that was quite ground breaking and at that time quite divisive. I guess that’s why it’s become a bit of movement.
"But I don’t think it should be dogma. It’s a way of doing things but you need to adapt it to your context. You’ll spend the day with us, learning how No Dig works, the benefits and how it might work for you. You’ll see it applied on scale on our farm. You’ll also be able to ask questions, learn some propagation tips, harvest tips, how to reduce weeds etc.
"This is a bit of a one off. I’ve tried to get Charles down to Falmouth for several years so this is a great opportunity for you to be able to talk to him direct. Of course you’ll also meet other like minded people too."
