A man whose string of crimes included assaulting and strangling a female victim has been jailed by a court in Cornwall.
Oliver Haisman, aged 26, appeared at Truro Crown Court on Friday, January 13 on one count of intentional strangulation, three counts of assault, failure to provide a breath specimen, possession of cocaine and breach of a suspended sentence.
The offences took place November and December of 2022. Haisman, from Launceston, assaulted his victim by intentionally strangling her as well as beating her.
On December 3, 2022, in Launceston, Haisman was found to be in possession of 0.27 grams of cocaine as well as failing to provide a specimen for analysis during the course of an investigation into whether he had committed a road traffic offence in Newquay on the same day.
He pleaded guilty to all of the charges, including the breach of a suspended sentence by the commissioning of a further offence during the operational period of the suspended sentence order made by Truro Crown Court on July 16, 2021.
During his sentencing, Haisman was handed down two years in prison.
