A Cornish nightclub is looking to “bring back the good times” by launching a new monthly club night that will put it at the forefront of the latest trend.
The Office in Truro will play host to both seasoned and up-and-coming DJs when it hosts the club night TR1BE - a twist on the TR1 postcode for the city and a new underground movement in Drum & Bass.
The duo behind it, promotors Lee Wright and Dave Townsend, say they want to put the club and Truro “back on the map”.
They are keen to reinvigorate the city’s nightclub scene with the type of electronic dance music made famous in the 1990s by the likes of Andy C, Goldie and Fabio and Grooverider.
Dave said: “It would be nice to put Truro and The Office back on the map for a particular style of music and attract up-and-coming local artists from diverse backgrounds.
“Giving local talent the opportunity is something we are passionate about.”

Lee added: “Rather than having large out-of-county proBrewery looks to build new shop and tasting areamoters coming down to the club for a night and going home again, it would be nice if we could take their place and be the local promoter of choice.
“Jungle and Drum & Bass music had a huge explosion in the 90s before being replaced by UK garage and breaks, as it was very London-centric.
“But it’s back and in a big way, and we want to be at the forefront to the new era.”
Lee has been a local legend in the Drum & Bass scene for nearly two decades and has a wealth of experience running events, while Dave is the founder of underground online radio station Club Ready Radio - an offshoot of the renowned Club Ready DJ school, which is a hub for up and coming DJs to show off their skills.
Warwick Royden, owner of The Office, at 1 River Walk, said: "It's fantastic that TR1BE want to use the club as the main hub to run these events and bring back the good times.
“The Office was so well known pre-Covid. The club is rich in history for underground music and it will be a welcome return to see things back to their former glory."
The event will launch on Friday, February 24, with plenty of local talent headlining. DJS on the night will including Armenez, Leroy, Miss Trixsta and Tuskan, with MCs on the night including Cali B, K Koi and Spin EZ.
Subsequent events are scheduled for the last Friday of every month, 9pm to 2.30am.
Details for tickets can be found on The Office Facebook page.
