A section of the A30 in Cornwall will be closed for three nights this week, starting this evening (Monday).
The stretch between Chiverton Cross and Boxheater will shut at 8pm tonight and not reopen until 6am tomorrow.
It will be the same on Tuesday and Wednesday night.
The closure is so that National Highways South West can carry out a variety of work, including installing temporary concrete barriers at Chiverton and Marazanvose.
Diversions will be in place during the closure periods.
A spokesperson said: “We will be undertaking a range of works at various locations along the closed section of road.
“Works include the installation of temporary concrete barriers in the areas of Chiverton and Marazanvose and general traffic management maintenance.
“The B3284 will be open in both directions. There will be no left or right turn at Chybucca. The official diversion route will be well sign posted.
“We’re carrying out the work overnight when traffic levels are lower to minimise disruption. Please plan ahead and allow a little extra time for your journey.”
Residents who live in the area and can only get in and out of their homes via that piece of road will be given a special pass, and be escorted by a safety vehicle.
“The Chevron Traffic Safety Control Officer helpline number, for landlocked residents whose only way out is onto the A30 and who need access during the night is 07918 586974.
“A residents’ pass will be provided. A safety vehicle will attend and escort you out of the closure area,” said the Highways spokesperson, who added: “We apologise for any inconvenience these works may cause.
“Should you have any queries regarding the works or the closure, please contact our project helpline on 0845 600 2664.”
The work comes just over a week after a full closure of the same stretch of road on the A30 at the end of half term, to enable the installation of the new Tolgroggan accommodation bridge near Zelah.
This saw the installation of a new 137ft (42-metre) structure being lifted into place before the dismantling of the old accommodation bridge later in the year.
