A woman from Helston has been sent to prison for 12 weeks after admitting breaching a criminal behaviour order by being drunk at Bodmin railway station.

Gennette Ford, aged 38, of Flora Gardens, Penrose Road, Helston pleaded guilty to breaching the order at Bodmin Parkway on February 22 when she appeared at Truro Magistrates’ Court today (February 27).

Magistrates felt that the offence was such a serious breach of the order made at Bodmin Magistrates’ Court on October 21 last year that custody was the only option as every other option had been tried.

That order was imposed for breaching an earlier criminal behaviour order by refusing to leave Wetherspoons in Truro whilst drunk on October 21 last year and assaulting an emergency worker.

It also meant she had breached criminal behaviour order imposed in April 2021 by going to Falmouth Town Centre on April 16 last year causing a nuisance.

The offence was also committed during the operational period of a suspended sentence order made by Truro magistrates on May 17, 2022 for the offences of assault on emergency worker and breach of Criminal Behaviour Order.

For those offences she was sent to prison for 26 weeks because the offence was felt to be so serious with a persistent breach of Criminal Behaviour Order with anti-social behaviour of urinating in public and her complete disregard to law and court orders.

However, at the time because of the time she had already spent in prison, she was only ordered to remain in the confines of the court for a day. Detention deemed served by reason of time already spent in custody.
