A GIRL'S boarding school in Cornwall has been ranked among the top boarding schools in the world, according to Fortune magazine.

Girls’ school, Truro High, has been ranked as one of the top boarding schools in the world for 2023 in a new list published by Fortune magazine.

Fortune says the list is designed to identify the very top boarding schools around the world and help parents choose the best schools for their child.

Truro High is the only school in Cornwall to make the list where it joins illustrious institutions such as Eton College, the Amadeus International School in Vienna and the USA’s number one boarding school, Phillips Academy.

Headmistress Sarah Matthews said: "It is wonderful to be recognised in a global sea of excellence and this ranking is a reflection of all those who work in our community.

"Whilst it’s our passion for providing an excellent and enriching environment that drives us, it is always a proud moment when those efforts are recognised by others."

Founded in 1880, Truro High School is consistently one of Cornwall’s top school for A-level results as well as for the progress made by its students, known as 'Value Added.' The school says it places a strong focus on well-being with girls from 4 to 18 years old encouraged to balance their studies and take advantage of the broad range of extra-curricular activities.

The top 250 boarding schools 2023 list was produced by Fortune in partnership with market research company Statista and is based on thousands of recommendations made by heads of school, boarding school consultants, parents and alumni around the world.

Institutions were not allowed to recommend themselves.
