A PLANNING application has been submitted that could see a new beauty salon open in Helston in the near future.
The plans, which were submitted on behalf of Ms Sophie Alcon Milner, hope to gain full planning approval for a garage conversion to form a beauty salon at Pendeen Park in Helston.
The application would see a change of use from garage and utility room to a beauty salon.
The site is located within a residential neighborhood with both retail and wholesale land use in the vicinity.
According to the application: "The Proposal represents economic objective as more space can be used for home-based beauty salon business and the Proposal will bring income into the local economy as local construction workers will be hired as soon as approval is granted.
"The Proposal also contributes to the social objective as more beauty saloon services can be provided to local residents and contribute to their well-being.
"Moreover, as the Proposal will be within the existing curtilage of the property, it will not impact the surrounding amenities and thus there is no basis for the Proposal to be refused on the basis of design or its impact on streetscape character."
The application was validated on Thursday, February 2, 2023.
Helston Town Council have also noted that they recommend the application for approval.
