Strong winds are causing problems on the roads and at sea this morning as well as causing damage to buildings
Fore Street in Redruth, a one way street has been closed due to unsafe building from Green Lane to Station Road.
A large piece of wood has fallen from a building into the road.
There is no service on the St Mawes Passenger Ferry between St Mawes and Falmouth due to heavy seas and high winds.
All Skybus flights between Lands End and the Isles of Scilly are on hold due to poor weather conditions.
Damage has been caused across the county with damage to fences as winds as high as 50mph whip in from south west and are due to peak around 11am.
Trees have been reported to have come down blocking a main road near Wadebridge.
One driver warned people to be careful of a big branch hanging over the A39 near the Norway Inn, Perrananorworthal.
Connor Hodder posted: "Be careful if you’re driving from Falmouth to Truro way just past the Norway inn as you enter the 50 zone there’s a big branch over the road and you’ll need to go on the other side of the road."
The Met Office has issued a yellow warning for Southwesterly winds will widely gust to between 50 and 55 mph with gusts reaching 60 to 65 mph over some exposed coasts and hills. The highest gusts are expected between mid-morning and mid-afternoon.
