A Cornish charity is celebrating after hitting the £100,000 fundraising milestone.
The Marie Curie Helston and The Lizard Fundraising Group has raised an incredible £101,852 over the seven years to support Marie Curie nurses who work tirelessly throughout Cornwall.
The money ensures that more terminally-ill people can spend the time they have left in the comfort of their own homes, surrounded by the people they love.
The nurses support those with any terminal illness - not just those with cancer, but those with Parkinson's, Motor Neurone disease, Alzheimer's, Chronic Pulmonary Disease and Heart Failure.

They work from 10pm to 7am, enabling family members and carers to get a good night's rest and respite from their caring duties. They also help to alleviate some of the pressures on overstretched hospitals.
A day-time service has also been added. The service will cost £20 an hour to support a Marie Curie nurse, or £180 for a full night-time shift, so every penny raised makes an enormous difference said the charity.
