Despite the wet and windy weather more than 40 people turned up for the latest community update on what's happening at Ships and Castles.
The update from Pendennis Leisure took place at Falmouth Rugby Club on Tuesday night.
Representatives from various user groups and industries, local residents and users of leisure facilities, local town and Cornwall councillors and children representing several local schools came along to discuss the long term plans for a swimming and leisure facility that everybody could use and be proud of.
There was also discussion of the challenges faced by the community interest company (CIC), the challenges, and the short to medium term “meanwhile” plans to best utilise the space until it can realise the community’s ambition.
They also recapped on the "fantastic" efforts of everybody who'd helped out with last weekend's big tidy up event.
"The engagement, ideas and suggestions were inspiring and covered diverse uses including sports, treatments, classes, studio timetables, opening hours, amphitheatres, bushcraft, gardening and agriculture, forest school – even indoor farming in our purpose built greenhouse – and the children even worked on design ideas for their future pool and swimwear," said Tom Hicks
"Plenty more people signed up to our notifications and volunteer list, which you can also do on our website – please do get in touch and keep following for more news!
"Thanks again to our amazing attendees for showing the passion that is evident across a diverse selection of our community – you are awesome!"
