Helston bar and restaurant Henlys is preparing to reopen under new management – and just in time for Flora Day.
Behind the reopening is Matt Ferguson, who already has three pubs in the area - the Queen's Arms in Breage, the Fire Engine at Marazion and the Coldstreamer in Gulval - and is formerly of the Three Tuns at St Keverne.
He said he has been looking to move into Helston for a while now, with a vision of being able to offer food from 12 noon right through to 9pm, every ten minutes between Helston and Penzance - so when the opportunity was offered to him he jumped at it.
Matt, who grew up in the town as a child and now already lives here with his own family, explained: "Helston has suffered some blows recently, including missing out on millions in funding, so now it's time for us locals to back it and put the investment in.
"We're just the latest in a number of new businesses opening up and I really believe there's a growing excitement in what the town is able to offer.
"Helston is becoming a genuine, quality offering when it comes to food and drink, and we want to help stop people from travelling out of town to eat - everything is here on your doorstep, within walking distance."
He plans to build on Henlys' already strong reputation for quality food, and make sure it is accessible to all.

To this end, a children's menu will be available alongside the main menu - which itself will include a full range from basket meals through to quality pub classics and seasonal dishes, all cooked fresh in-house.
These will be available in the downstairs bar right through from 12 noon to 9pm each day, seven days a week, with additional Sunday roast options.
The full menu will also be available in the upstairs restaurant, which will in addition offer changing daily specials in the evenings for those looking for something a little more special - perhaps with an occasion to celebrate, or simply to treat themselves.
Both the bar and restaurant have been given a full makeover, tied together by an Art Deco theme focusing on greens, golds and hints of carmine.
As with all Matt's pubs, families are welcome and the downstairs bar will be dog-friendly.

"My aim is always to run places that I would like to take my own family to eat in!" added Matt.
Henlys will reopen on Flora Eve, from 4pm on Thursday, May 4 for drinks only. It will then open from 7am on Flora Day itself, mainly for drinks but with breakfasts booked in advance, before launching its full food menu on the Saturday, when the King's Coronation will be shown on the bar's two large TVs.
