A CORONATION Street actor whose storyline involves being the victim of an acid attack has spoken to a Truro man who was scarred for life in such an attack
Coronation Street actor Ryan Prescott, who plays the role of Ryan Connor, met with real-life acid attack survivor, Andreas Christopheros, from Truro ahead of the shocking scene.
After surviving the attack, which was a case of mistaken identity, Andreas has since begun campaigning to the Ministry of Justice to help support victims of acid attacks.
The scene, which aired on Wednesday's episode, shows Ryan Connor being attacked by stalker Justin Rutherford, who had intended to target Daisy Midgeley on her wedding day as her driver.
After their conversation, Ryan told The Mirror that Andreas has a "warrior spirit."
The Coronation Street actor also spoke with psychotherapists who have been helping Andreas in his recovery, as well as Ryan Crane from the Katie Piper Foundation who also spoke about the devastating effects of such an attack.

Earlier this month, Andreas visited the Ministry of Justice along with fellow acid attack survivor Katie Piper and publicist Charlotte Tobin to speak with Minister of State for Victims and Sentencing, Edward Argar.
In an update on his social media page, Andreas said: “We had a very positive & encouraging meeting at the Ministry Of Justice with Minister Edward Argar, Minister of State. He is responsible for key areas including victims, sentencing & miscarriages of justice.
“In addition to today’s meeting & progress, we are working closely with the Home Office on all points, but specifically funding for acid attack survivors & the worrying accessibility of acid online & in retail stores. We are also meeting with the police RE how they can police against this method of violence, towards others & them.
“Conversations are happening & we are so hopeful for real change, for current survivors, future victims & those who have been sadly lost by this awful crime.
“As always your support is gratefully received. Thank you to everyone who has been behind us. Thank you to those in positions of power who are hearing us and can implement very real change. As a society the justice system impacts us all.”
